In Loving Memory of James Herscot
September 16, 1936 – October 5, 2024
Chairman James Herscot founded Princeton Properties in 1973. He built the company into a multifaceted real estate company specializing in apartments and furnished suites. His vision allowed the executives to aggressively pursue new acquisitions, major rehabilitations, and new construction. As a result of Jim’s accomplishments and integrity, some of the leading financial institutions in the country selected Princeton as their joint venture partner and committed significant debt financing to finance Princeton’s rehabilitations, acquisition, and construction activities. These included General Electric Capital Corporation, Citicorp, and Bank America. There are currently 45 communities located in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, totaling over 7,000 apartment homes. Princeton has won national recognition every year since 1995. These national awards include Best Multifamily Rehab, Best Asset Turnaround, Property Manager of The Year, Best Rehab and finalist for Property Management Firm of The Year, Most Creative Financing, and Best Affordable Brochure. Jim was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard University.
